In an episode of ICU Forum on May 29, 2024, an expert in obstetrics discussed the differences between point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and conventional ultrasound.

Dr. Sherri Ann Suplido defined POCUS as an ultrasound study performed by a medical practitioner to enhance and extend their clinical examination of the patient, considering it an extension of the physical exam.
